UNDERSTANDING HYDRAULIC OIL GRADES
The number after "AW" is the ISO viscosity grade — the higher the number, the thicker the oil.
Thinner oil for systems in cooler conditions and machines that specify ISO VG 32.
The most common general-purpose grade for industrial and mobile hydraulics.
Thicker oil for high-pressure systems, hot climates and heavy earth-moving equipment such as JCBs.
